Dr. Demkee Honored by Rotary International

At the recent Salute to Troops Concert in November, the Morning Star Rotary of Bethlehem named Dr. Demkee a "Paul Harris Fellow" in "appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world."

The Allentown Band is proud to have been a part of the Morning Star Rotary Club's annual Salute the Troops concert for 21 years, most of which have benefited the Victory House of the Lehigh Valley,

Each year, as part of the band's community outreach, we welcome up to 50 talented area high school musicians to join us, playing a "Side-by-Side" program. The Allentown Band is very excited to announce that the 2025 Side-by-Side Concert, Sunday May 4th at Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown,  features the music of John Williams.  Many of the selections for this program have been recorded by the band on Volume 31 of the "Our Band Heritage" series. Opera and Broadway!

  The ALLENTOWN BAND, Ronald Demkee, Conductor plays Opera and Broadway Favorites 7:00 pm, Tuesday August 12, Waldheim Park, 2400 South Hall Street, Allentown, free 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 14, Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 Hamilton St., Allentown, free We are very excited to present this brilliant music from Opera and Broadway featuring two remarkable artists: Grace Lerew, soprano and Daniel Rodriguez, tenor. This is a program that affords listeners the luxury of hearing many of their favorite arias or Broadway hits, all within the space of ninety minutes. At Waldheim, concert goers are seated in the beautiful outdoor Tabernacle, which is covered by a breathtaking arched roof and features excellent acoustics.
