Excellent Youth and Family Concerts - Universe at an Exhibition
This year's Allentown Band 's annual Youth Concert reached over 1,600 enthusiastic students from area school districts who came to Allentown's Miller Symphony Hall , where they experienced the Jose Francisco Salgado's award winning film -The Universe at an Exhibition, set to Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" in a program that magically merged science, visual art and music. Thanks to astronomer/film maker Dr. Salgado for informative remarks preceding the film and thanks to the members of the Allentown Band for an inspired performance of Mussorgsky's master work.
